From the depot
Since its foundation in 1839, Arti et Amicitiae has built up its own art collection, consisting of paintings, watercolours and prints that rarely leave the depot. Over the years, these works have been donated by artists or their descendants, and sometimes purchased or commissioned by Arti itself.
Until 30 June 2025, these hidden treasures are on display at the society. The exhibition shows a rich variety of styles and subjects - from cityscapes to animal portraits, from party decorations to self-portraits. Each work tells its own story about artistic life within Arti and about the artists who gave colour to the society.
With works by H.P. Berlage, George Hendrik Breitner, Leo Gestel, Nicolaas van der Waay, Marie van Regteren Altena, Martin Monnickendam and others.
