Arti et Amicitiae is one of the largest and oldest artists' associations in the Netherlands. Arti has 1,200 members - 600 artist members and 600 art-loving members - and is a private association. To become a member as an artist is subject to balloting by the Assessment Committee. If you are an art lover, art professional or do not want to be balloted, you can apply as an art-loving member. This requires a nomination by two Arti members, including at least one artist member. Do you want to become an Arti member as a company or organisation? Then choose a company and organisation membership.

As a member, you are welcome in our society and have free access to the exhibitions and events (exceptions are possible). You can serve on our various committees and you are invited twice a year to the General Assembly. Artist members are the only ones with voting rights in the association. 

You can apply for membership at any time. As an artist member you wait for the ballotage, as an art member you have to hang on for two months. If other members do not object then you are a member of Arti after two months. 

Membership types 

Visual artist members (ballotage)

€ 146 per year for professional visual artists
Are you younger than 30? Then you pay half, i.e. € 73.
Have you been a member for 50 years? Then you get your membership as a gift from then on.

Artistic members (on the recommendation of 2 Arti members)

A standard membership costs €438 per year.
If you work as a professional in the art sector - for example as an art historian, gallery owner, artist in a discipline other than visual art - or if you are a professional visual artist and do not wish to be balloted - then you pay € 292 per year. 

Aspiring membership
For €75, you get acquainted with our association, its members, exhibitions and activities for three months. Do you like it? Then you can take out a regular membership afterwards. 

Corporate and organisation membership
Arti et Amicitiae opens its attractive venue to companies, organisations, associations and institutions and offers the possibility to apply for a corporate membership. This allows you and your colleagues and business associates to enjoy a lunch, drinks or dinner in special surroundings.

A corporate membership is valid for five people within your organisation. The membership cards are in your organisation's name. The persons have the same rights as art-loving members.

A corporate membership for five people offers a 15% discount compared to regular rates. If you want more membership cards, higher discounts apply (6-10 people = 20% discount, 11-15 people = 25% discount, 16-20 people = 30% discount). In addition, your organisation will receive a 20% discount on the rent of the society, the exhibition halls and the boardroom.
