ABOUT ARTI ET AMICITIAE
Arti et Amicitiae is the House for Art and Friendship in Amsterdam. We present exhibitions and events with visual arts, performances, installations, music, lectures, film screenings and literature. Our society is located in a monumental building in the heart of the city centre where people meet and where you can have lunch, drinks and dinner. During the day we are open to everyone, in the evening Arti is a private place for members of our society.
Arti et Amicitiae is one of the largest and oldest artists' associations in the Netherlands. Arti has existed since 1839 and is housed in a beautiful national monument on the Rokin in Amsterdam. Our association has over 1,200 members. Half of these are artist members, the other half are art-loving members.
Arti is a special meeting place where the common love for the arts is shared. With creators, with enthusiasts, in a place full of history. Arti is an inclusive community where artists, art professionals and art lovers of all generations can connect, and Arti is a stage for contemporary art and culture to touch and inspire members and enthusiasts. Within our society, there is a positive energy and homely warmth where every member can feel at home and find inspiration.
