EN - EN | Roland Berning & Charles Vreuls
For the exhibition at ArtSpace, Roland Berning invited fellow artist Charles Vreuls to exhibit with him. Both artists have previously created exhibitions together. Although their work differs in nature, their collaborations always form a distinctive unity.
Vreuls presents new works: small paintings, created within the boundaries of a project. Elements and representations appear on the surface and transform or are taken up again in other works, in a fluid line of simultaneity. The process becomes space through the appearance of the works as points on a horizon, hung in the exhibition in a strict line.
Berning presents diverse work, both in style and material: running mushrooms alongside abstract paintings and experiments on textile. Everything is suspended in a movable way.
The exhibition is arranged so that the works form a braid, a grid. Simply shown OM and OM, a movement emerges: two opposing waves. Is it interference or cancellation?
