Opening Event | Sonic Acts Biennial, Melted for Love
Join us for the opening of the Sonic Acts Biennial 2026 exhibition Melted for Love, a three-chapter showcase unfolding across W139, Arti et Amicitiae and Rozenstraat in Amsterdam on 6, 7 and 8 February. With free entry, a buzzing bar, and special opening performances, the gallery stays open late – turning the evening into a lively meeting place for anyone interested in sound and art at the intersection of technology and ecology.
Set in the historic space of Arti et Amicitiae, this chapter of the Biennial exhibition brings together works that move through grief, dispossession, and enduring forms of love. The Biennial theme, Melted for Love, manifests here through textile lineages, collective attunements, nautical mythologies, trembling river systems, and the regenerative intelligence of mangrove forests.
On this night, HUNITI GOLDOX presents the world premiere of a work exploring mangrove ecologies as adaptive, regenerative intelligence. Also at the exhibition are artworks by renowned artists such as Dominique White, who summons nautical myths of the Black diaspora and shipwrecked voices, and Nour Shantout, who weaves tatreez as an embodied expression of Palestinian heritage, land, and resistance. Noor Abed’s film installation reflects on the collective attunements in the wake of ongoing displacement, Ameneh Solati listens to the Euphrates, asking how water might grieve, and Arjuna Neuman follows wildfire sparks to trace labour, migration, and quiet solidarity.
