De Salon
At the end of the year, Amsterdam's Arti et Amicitiae artists' association tackles a grand and festive occasion with the member exhibition de Salon. In the Salon more than 200 member artists will show recent work.
Be surprised by the versatility and individuality of the works. Paintings, sculptures, videos, installations, photography and graphics; the Salon shows a wide range of contemporary art and thus offers a fantastic overview of Arti's artists.
The Salon is a sales exhibition.
During the opening Friday evening, November 29, from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m., KOPPIÉCASSIE will play (see program)
PROGRAM
Friday night November 29 KOPPIÉCASSIE plays
In the band KOPPIÉCASSIE Pedro Bakker plays keyboard with his talented pakesizzers (Frisian for grandsons) Lucas Bakker (15) on saxophone and Kobe Bakker (13) on drums. Lucas and Kobe are Gentenaar, however, they were born and raised in Ghent and on vacations they often spend time in Friesland and during the fun of playing jazz music and soccer the name of the band was born. The rising star (in the Dutch and Belgian jazz scene) at the moment is Lucas. In 2023 he won the Princes Christina Jazz Concours and most recently he was featured at Pop&Jazz Hilversum.
Drummer Kobe Bakker plays a prominent role in this, on his drum pad he is also developing as a percussionist. With Lucas, he has now given a nice number of performances up to the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam with the New Year's Concert of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble in 2023. To date, they can also be seen as street musicians in Ghent.
During the performance of KOPPIÉCASSIE, Pedro Bakker will present the film project “Hé Blauwtje” (working title) with the writer and co-screenwriter Liesje Schreuders about Lucebert's war years and the period thereafter until 1950.

Book launch, Jolanda Prinsen, interview by Harald Schole
In my work, mainly three-dimensional and conceptual in nature, chance plays no small part. If initially an idea had to be executed according to plan, gradually changes and sidetracks were embraced. Now the reins have been loosened and I allow myself to be surprised. There are main themes: time and gravity and the desire to escape them.
In the 50-plus years of my career as a sculptor, the struggle with gravity was central. With my feet firmly on the earth, nothing could happen to me. Like Antaios, the giant, is protected by his mother, the earth, as long as he keeps in touch.
More and more my work de-materialized. The first sculpture weighed 2,000 pounds, the last 12.
From stone to glass to poetry. I needed an overview, a retrospective. That is this book.
Sunday, December 15 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day.
A Middle East peace initiative starts with yourself.
Since the year 2000, action artist Rob Schrama has been working to bring Palestinians and Israelis closer together. For nine years, he organized the “Jerusalem Hug” peace event in Jerusalem, where anyone with a heart for Jerusalem and a desire for peace could unite along the city walls of the Old City. Friendships were formed between Palestinians and Israelis and together a solution to their long-running conflict was developed.
With Gaza in ruins and Israel effectively in control of the Palestinian territories, this Pa-il solution seems far from feasible. But Rob Schrama, ambassador of this Pa-il movement, sees the necessity precisely now, to bring this conflict to a definitive solution. Rob Schrama is presenting the concept of his initiative as an epic in words and images in a 12-part exhibition at Salon 2024. On Sunday, December 15, from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., he will explain his plans.
