Het mysterie van de zoekgeraakte titel
In the ArtSpace, Heleen Wiemer presents a selection of her drawings and collages alongside a new animated film that is still very much in development. The accompanying soundtrack was composed by Thomas Koelewijn. For the attentive viewer, a dancing, stumbling search for a glimpse of stability unfolds. Prepare for sinkholes, licking flames, obstructing heads, swaying trees, and a singing saw. Every object seems imprisoned by its form, though never for long; in this world, anything is possible.
The work of Heleen Wiemer (Ten Boer, 1978) is characterized by colorful semi-abstract humor, existential wonder, whimsical disruptions, and a unique sense of rhythm. In addition to her solo practice, she occasionally collaborates with Richtje Reinsma and Roosmarijn Schoonewelle in the artists' collective Het Harde Potlood, and with Thomas Koelewijn as the audiovisual duo T.H. Koelewiemer.
