Femke Smit
On Thursday 7 November, Femke will play a special concert at Arti together with fellow musicians Wagner Vasconcelos (Brazil) and Daniel de Moraes (Uruguai). They will play compelling sambas, rousing MPB and nimble Bossa Nova, in short, an evening to dream away.
Femke Smit (1986) is Dutch, but she sings Brazilian music as if she was born there. Maybe it was a past life, maybe it is pure coincidence, but when she sings Brazilian music, she feels at home. With her various projects (including Cantorias, Roda da Holanda and a duo with Mike del Ferro), she is making her mark on the Brazilian scene in the Netherlands, but she is also making her mark in Brazil itself. With the group Cantorias (also featuring Anna Serierse, Lilian Vieira and Nina Rompa on vocals), she won the Edison National Vocal in 2024 and was nominated for the audience award. Her exuberant appearance and compelling way of interpreting Samba, bossa nova and MPB make Femke a singer who really takes you on a musical journey.
