Visual artists in search of the meaning of the life and work of Franz Kafka, 100 years after his death.
This year, 2024, in which numerous activities draw attention to the life and work of Kafka (July 3, 1883 – June 3, 1924) on the occasion of the centenary of his death, an exhibition will take place at the Amsterdam artists' association Arti et Amicitiae, highlighting Kafka as a source of inspiration for the visual arts. places in the spotlight. A tribute to a writer whose work offers poignant insights into the paradoxes of human existence. The focus is on Kafka's story A Hunger Artist.

Roquas wrote an accompanying text for the project: Meal for hunger artists: fragments from research into a sea lamprey. During the opening, the first edition of the short story collection Ein Hungerkunstler (Berlin, 1924), commissioned by the Dutch Franz Kafka Circle, reprinted in facsimile, will be presented.
A program of lectures, film screenings and art performances will take place throughout the duration of the exhibition. More information will follow.
