Het Oog | Anne Verhoijsen
The watchful eye was always there. In the church above the tabernacle. When I turned around, there were my father’s eyes, watching me from the choir loft. God sees everything. Years later, I made drawings in the tombs of Thebes; there too were watchful eyes. Ancient Egyptian eyes that looked into my soul and have never left me since.
Now in ArtSpace: my eye. Three, four, five eyes, eight eyes, twelve eyes, thirty‑three ceramic eyes looking at you — and at the participants of the protest workshop by Anneke Harmsen and Anne Verhoijsen.
During the workshop, you will create protest dolls that can immediately become part of the exhibition PROTEST, protest!
Tuesday 20 January from 15.00 – 18.00 and Thursday 22 January from 14.00 – 17.00. More information about the workshops can also be found here: Workshops.
