Ying Shan Hu | Grachtenfestival
Young pianist Ying Shan Hu presents a program in which sound and imagination take center stage. Performed among the paintings, a leading role is naturally reserved for Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Surrounded by works of art, Liszt’s Les Jeux d’Eau à la Villa d’Este and his second Légende gain an added dimension.
Born in Maastricht, Ying Shan Hu studied in Maastricht and Leipzig and is currently continuing her training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She has won prizes at competitions including the Princess Christina Competition and the Steinway Competition, and has performed in renowned venues such as the Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ. She now brings her artistry to the beautiful sociëteit of Arti et Amicitiae.
