Painters Club Fluor

Painters Club Fluor is an interactive evening featuring nine artists on Friday, October 9, exploring the use of fluorescent colors in contemporary painting. The various works will be on view at Artspace starting Monday.

Initiator and artist Baukje Spaltro has brought together a group of artists, each of whom will present a single work in which highly saturated, fluorescent color plays a prominent role. On October 9, the painters will playfully explain their choice to use fluorescent color in their work. Is it a light, a signal, a disruption, energy, a memory, or a spatial intervention? One by one, the artists are invited to present their work and respond to the same question: What significance does fluorescent color hold in your work? Each participant has up to five minutes to answer—whether through words, silence, music, performance, or another form. Afterward, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Painters Club Fluor aims to create a direct encounter between artists, colleagues, and the public, thereby sparking a substantive conversation about materials, color, and motivation within the field of painting. The participating artists are Aquil Copier, Astrid Moors, Dirk Jan Jager, Marianne Roodenburg, Martijn Schuppers, Reinder van der Woude, Sander van Deurzen, Sander Stada, and Baukje Spaltro.

October 9: Doors open at 4:45 p.m. The exhibition will be open to the public starting Monday, October 5, at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.; after 5:00 p.m., members only or by appointment via info@spaltro.nl
