Buning Brongers Prizes 2024
The Buning Brongers Prize is a biennial Dutch art prize for young painters. The prizes are awarded by the Buning Brongers Foundation from the estate of Johan Buning, his wife Titia Brongers and his sister-in-law Jeanette Brongers. Prizes will be awarded again in the autumn of 2024. The Buning Brongers Prize is the largest private art prize in the Netherlands and has been awarded to 162 artists since 1966. The prize comes with a cash prize of €4,500. An exhibition will be organized for the winners at the award ceremony in Arti et Amicitiae and a catalog will be published. The candidates for the prize are nominated by art schools.
The jury of the Buning Brongers Prizes 2024 assessed 107 nominations from Dutch art schools and awarded the prizes to the following visual artists:

• Mounir Eddib – Zuyd Maastricht
• Lorian Gwynn – Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht
• Kyara van Meel – Frank Mohr Institute Groningen
• Jahi Quasim Reeberg – Willem de Kooning Rotterdam
• Tiago Santos – Piet Zwart Institute Rotterdam

The winners all receive an amount of € 4,500. A publication will also be released. Mister Motley will interview all winners. These interviews will be posted on Mister Motley's website and in the publication.
This year the jury consisted of: Maarten Bertheux, Joke de Wolf, Lieneke Hulshof, Bobbi Essers, Dineke Blom and Rogier van Teeseling (chairman).
The Buning Brongers Prizes have been awarded to 168 young promising visual artists since 1966.
