De Fantast - Liefde in tijden van crisis - Raaf Hekkema
On Monday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m., multiple award winner Raaf Hekkema comes to Arti for a special concert/lecture. This event revolves around the saxophone music of German composer Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1877-1933) and provides an opportunity to discover Hekkema's latest CD. No sign-up is necessary; just walk in and enjoy.
Raaf Hekkema is known for his adventurous spirit and virtuosity. Whether performing Paganini's violin concertos on saxophone, exploring microtonal music or deciphering complex compositions, Hekkema doesn't shy away from a challenge. He plays more than one hundred concerts worldwide each year and has been awarded Instrumentalist of the Year for his impressive solo CD Paganini Caprices for Saxophone.
In addition to his solo career, Hekkema is co-founder of the renowned Calefax Reed Quintet and has written hundreds of arrangements for this ensemble. His extensive experience and versatility make him a unique saxophonist and speaker.
