Biografie Bibi Jordan (aka Bliekendaal) was born in the Netherlands, and from the age of two, grew up in a Dutch migrant family on the west coast of New Zealand. This shapes her and fosters a strong connection to landscape and environment in her works. There’s a lightness, layering, and connection of people with their surroundings (and each other) expressed in her sculptures. 

For the past six years, Bibi has lived in Amsterdam, studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and focused her practice on interactive public works that joyfully raise questions by combining sustainability, play, and participation. These surprising artworks are often made from recycled materials, combining industrial elements like steel with musical, living, or organic components.
